Rebecca Hankin
Meet Rebecca, the global head of strategic communications and marketing for Imaginable Futures. She leads the firm’s brand, public relations and awareness efforts across all geographies. Rebecca has over 20 years of experience leading communications and marketing for cause-based global organizations.
Prior to joining the Imaginable Futures, she worked at Facebook, where she managed communications for its education and social good products. Prior to that, Rebecca was vice president of marketing and communications at Room to Read, an organization focused on children’s literacy and girls’ education across Africa and Asia. Over eight years, Rebecca, developed and grew Room to Read’s brand through strategic communications and marketing initiatives to help raise awareness and funds.
Earlier, Rebecca was the first director of marketing at the International Rescue Committee. She was director of communications at Seeds of Peace, a leadership program that supports youth from conflict countries in the Middle East and South Asia.

What professional accomplishment are you most proud?
Creating the Imaginable Futures brand from the ground up and launching it out into the world to have an impact on learners who deserve more opportunities to thrive.
Why do you love coming to work?
Our team respects and enjoys each other. That makes it a pleasure to come to work and connect with colleagues, even if that’s accomplished through video calls.
If you didn’t work at Imaginable Futures, what would you be doing?
Opening a creative art space for kids.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
In kindergarten I had hoped to be the first woman goalkeeper for the Philadelphia Flyers (no, I don’t ice skate…slight problem).

What lessons did you learn early in your career that you keep with you today?
That I trust my own feels over numbers so I need to cross-check my gut with experts who respect the story that data tells.
If you could be one character from a book, who would you choose and why?
Rosie Revere, Engineer. I love reading this book to my daughter because it encourages creativity, invention, and never giving up.
What’s the closest thing to real magic in this world?
Dark chocolate and sea salt.

Sunset (I am not a morning person).
