Why We Invested
COVID-19 has disrupted education for learners, families and teachers across the globe and exacerbated learning inequities. It has also put a spotlight on racial injustice. Almost overnight, schools were forced to transition to online learning, shifting much of the education onto parents and caregivers. Wide Open School is a massive collaboration across 75 partners and supporters who came together to meet the needs of learners, families and teachers due to the pandemic. We are thrilled these partners include Imaginable Futures’ portfolio organizations such as Ellevation, Khan Academy, Tinkergarten, Ubongo -- as well as close partners such as the National Head Start Association and Sesame Workshop. Wide Open School is led by Common Sense Media, a trusted source for quality education media for more than 15 years. Imaginable Futures is proud to be an anchor funder of Wide Open School, and specifically support its early childhood effort.
