Ashoka identifies and supports social entrepreneurs worldwide, while also learning and adopting new models and trends in social innovation. Established in Brazil in 1986, the organization has a long history of engaging local social entrepreneurs, transforming schools and working with youth. In recent years, Ashoka’s work in Brazil has expanded its scope to promote the strengthening of individual autonomy and agency. Their Changemaker program, for example, connects schools, young leaders, teachers’ unions and social entrepreneurs, while cultivating conscious empathy, teamwork, creativity and leadership. Our partnership with Ashoka supports their efforts to cultivate a future Brazil that is more locally connected and embodies autonomy, solidarity and empathy.
