About

The National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) fights for gender justice—in the courts, in public policy, and in our society—working across the issues that are central to the lives of women and girls. They use the law in all its forms to change culture and drive solutions to the gender inequity that shapes our society and to break down the barriers that harm all of us—especially women of color, LGBTQ people and low-income women and families. For 50 years, NWLC has been on the leading edge of every major legal and policy victory for women.

Why We Invested

National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) has been a leading voice advocating for improved child care policies in the US for decades. Over the next several years, NWLC will focus on maintaining federal and state policy momentum for building an accessible, equitable child care infrastructure for all families in the US. They will also advocate for policies that improve family well-being, including expanded tax credits and strengthened social insurance and public benefit programs. Our investment in NWLC reflects our shared commitment to building the broad-based power needed to realize a transformative, equity-centered vision on child care over the long term. United States

Since 1972, the National Women’s Law Center has been fighting—in the courts, in public policy, and in our society—for a future where all women and girls can work and learn and live with safety, dignity, equity, and bodily autonomy. Amid pain and pushback, that future remains our unyielding north star, and we will know that we have gotten there when not just our laws and institutions, but also our culture, reflect those values.

Fatima Goss Graves, President and CEO, NWLC
