About

Artemisia is a nonprofit organization pioneer in creating the social impact business ecosystem in Brazil. Artemisia supports early stage businesses focused on urban, lower income population in sectors such as education, healthcare, housing and financial services. Over the years, Artemisia has created several initiatives such as university courses, MBA, business accelerator programs and also, created and disseminated content to nurture an impact ecosystem and create enterprises that really combine impact and financial returns since its early days.

We believe that business models can be a powerful mechanism of transformation that creates innovative solutions to complex issues, as they are financially sustainable and replicable. In alliance with government and social organizations, they can actually create collective impact and change the reality of those who need it most.

Maure Pessanha, Co-entrepreneur and Executive Director, Artemisia
