Meet Nathalie, a principal at Imaginable Futures. She supports our investments, advocacy and strategic communications within Brazil.
Before joining Imaginable Futures, Nathalie was the co-founder of CO.LETIVO, a teacher residency program in Brazil that aims to bring equity and excellence to pre-service teacher development in the country. Nathalie was also a partner at SOMOS Educação, responsible for managing Colégio Anglo 21, the company’s flagship K-12 school in São Paulo. She also worked within the company’s M&A and School Operations teams.
In her tenure in education, Nathalie conducted an investigation on the drivers of extraordinary learning experiences, connecting research findings from the Science of Learning to school practices globally. As part of this journey, she visited over 40 schools in seven countries and mapped effective conditions for learning, curricular design choices, instructional strategies and support systems beyond the classroom. Nathalie started her career in investment banking, before making her way into education in search of meaning and social impact.
I am very proud of having led a school alongside a group of outstanding educators who strived to place learners at the very center of everything we did. I was challenged as a leader on a daily basis, failing multiple times along the way. That was when I learned (the hard way) about the power of vulnerability and the importance of always putting people ahead of results.
The possibility of learning something new every day, with incredible colleagues and the challenges we set ourselves.
I learned of the importance of creating a culture where people feel safe to be themselves and to take risks, and of giving them authentic autonomy and voice. Of taking the time to actively listen and engage with people on a deep level. Of building a team around values. Of the power of connection, collaboration and co-construction.

Matilda, by Roald Dahl because I always dreamed of having superpowers. Plus, she is amazingly sweet, loving and admirably resilient in the face of adversity.
